Tribal Courts 101 for Tribal Council

Some tribal council members may have started their elected terms without receiving as much information about tribal courts during their orientation as they would have liked. Tribal council members are encouraged to take this introductory session to learn more about tribal courts.

Objectives

• Give a general overview on the evolution of modern tribal courts
• Learn ways on how some tribal courts are serving their communities
• Identify key ideas about tribal courts that are important for all tribal council members to know
